mass mailing from shared

hi,
I started using a mailing software, i tested it and it worked for 3 emails which i received on various mailboxes.
then i made my mailing (1900 emails) and it all seemed ok
but then when i tested with the first 3 mails, they didn't go through anymore
my question are these:
- is it possible that somwhere a bot has identified my mailing as spam at some point and blocked all further mails?
- is there a log i can consult in order to see the past activity through my account in the mail server?

To help you with this matter, we will need to know the domain of the e-mail that is receiving these mail, and sending these mail.

To answer your question, the e-mail logger is /var/log/exim_mainlog, and this can only be accessed by Root.

The next question was in reference to spam databases, http://dnsstuff.com/ offers a great option that will search all popular databases to see if your ip is in that database.

Hi,
I've been testing mail sending from .com
As I said it worked for a while and te large email went thrhough (it also appears that many recipients were unaccurate adn i had many mail returned, can that have caused my account to stall?)
Lately i've tried to email myself to and while the software signals tht all is ok, mails never reach, not even teh spam box.... during my test before teh mass mail both when through

the limits on our shared servers are 500 messages per hour. Anything more than that, when the limit is reached, is discarded:


You need to throttle the mails little by little throughout the day to avoid this.

nevertheless I have not sent more than a dozen mails for 10 hours now and the few mails that I have been trying to send didnt' go through either... is there a period I should wait for until the account is freed?

all the test mails on the yahoo address just arrived at the same time (empty but arrived) nothing yet on the hotmail... pretty strange... I guess I'll just wait and see for 24 hours and let you know if i really can't figure it out, thanks for ur help

I have created test account, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., with password 1234.
And, I have successfully sent message from that account to gmail.
Could you please provide me with some mail address that you can't send messages to.

well right now it seems only hotmail is not receiving mails whether sent from mass mail software or from outlook
what is strange is that this same address, same settings, was receiving all test mails yesterday before i did my mass mailing... somewhere there's been a ban, probably from hotmail server, thanks for your help though, i guess i'll have to wait it out or change authentication settings on my mail account

Your domain name didn't have SPF record added.
I have added it. SPF record is required from most major mail providers.

Hi,
Sorry to ask a question that may sound peculiar.
in an earlier mail I was told that I'm allowed up to 500 mails an hour.
Is that rule very strict? the slowest that i can set my software is about 1.100 mails an hour, maximum 3 hours in a row. Is that going to be stopped?
do I also have only 500 mails an hour for my main account rootshosting.net?

Both are accurate, 500 is our mail servers limit in order to stop the mail server from being overworked.

If you wish to do more then that, you will need to upgrade to a VPS. There is no shared/reseller account that will have a different limit. This is to protect other clients on the server as well as you.

I just hope that it's not extremely strict, that there's a little margin ... and that it's 500 and and 500 receive.

Hi,
Since that mailing test I made I have experienced much problem with my mailing systems.
I have stopped to try to email for more than 24 hours but still very few of my emais go through from several websites (joomlas)... i guess from all my domains (I checked only 3 and i got 2 mails through (with delay) out of over 20 attempts).
I've been changing some mail settings around in my joomla installations, but I have the problem from installations that i have not modified recently.
Please tell me if something is wrong with my account

sorry, where is "force delivery"?
no new mails have arrived to my mailboxes
I have tested some forms again and the mails dont arrive.
exemple
xxxmpleContactFormemail&ff_frame=1
is a form that has always worked and should send a mail to .
now mails from this form don't arrive anymore, nor from www.hotel-a-to-z.com and www.hotel-web-deigner.com not even from the default contact form.
I'm scared about some other accounts used by my customer
I hope u can figure out why (i have the feelings that it's due to some restrictions after i made that mailing)

I dont really know if it's a problem of mailbox...
for exemple http://hotet.ch/joomla/index.php?option=com_facileforms&act=run&ff_name=SampleContactFormemail&ff_frame=1 has always sent emails to
Now these mails dont reach anymore
should send a mail to but doesn't...
I have not modified these softwares but they fail to send mails... some other forms still work though it's very strange... But i'm pretty sure that some forms on some domains where working properly and are not anymore while I did not change mail settings (not that I know of)

(I received a mail from the form from a customer through http://hotel-delaforet.ch/joomla/index.php?option=com_facileforms&act=run&ff_name=SampleContactForm&ff_frame=1 in the mailbox of This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. on the 7th of november, one day before i start my mailing testings, it was all ok
i tested this same form about 6 times since yesterday, no mail has arrived)
same happens with other forms on other domains as well, some pointing to gmail accounts, some to hotmail.... i mention this one because on this one i'm very sure that i didnt modify anything and i got record that it was working 4 days ago

I have an explenation.
I went on my hotmail settings and put my domains as trusted sites in the junkmail settings (there were not in the banned site though) and now i start gettings the forms on hotmail again
this is terrible... does that mean that each time i'm going to make a mailing hotmail/yahoo/gmail will classify me as a spammer?
I have not yet changed settings in yahoo and gmail boxes, but i will... but would you know if this will be the case with all my customers accounts? Is there a way to prevent that? Do you know of a way to send my mails safely without having to upgrade to VP?

Please check if you are able to send messages rom that domain tpo yahoo/gmail/hotmail in about 20 - 30 minutes, when SPF record propagates on our DNs cluster.
