hi,

I got a customer complaining that his mailbox  is not functionning properly anymore

it was ok 3 or 4 days ago...

now the mail forms dont' work and I tried to go online and send a mail with the HORDE system and got the following message:


There was an error sending your message: Failed to send data [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 503, response: All RCPT commands were rejected with this error: Sender verify failed Valid RCPT command must precede DATA)]

Hi,


mail service restarted, please try again now, and if it still fails please provide password for this mail account so we can test.

hi, no, I still get the same error message from the horde

Hi,


I'm not able to log to webmail of mail account This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with password: PCM123


Please check if this is correct password and provide us with valid one. Or if you wish I can just create new testing mail account on this domain and test with that.

probably because I was logged in.

I logged in again and can confirm pass is PCM123


now odd thing:

when I logged in earlier and tried to send a mail I could see that mailbox was trying to send mail throuh This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it which doesnt' exist

now it gives the right name .com and mails are working again...

I'm having some problems with mail forms at the same time and I'm wondering if it's not because it's trying to do the same (sending through default cpanel name homeandl instead of info)

I think that there is a mix-up somewhere with this address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it which doesnt' exist

actually This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it does exist, this is a default cPanel account which is created by default once account for rayonghomeandland.com has been created, but it shouldn't cause conflicts like you said. Are the forms working ok now as well?

hi,

no, forms still not working eventhough I dont' see the homeandl bug anymore from horde... and that i can send mails from horde now...

form error message relates to the captcha, but I'm pretty sure it's just because it's displaying the default error message in case of failure... captcha system was fine until the email problem came up...

I've checked exim log, and there is no errors in sending from .com, it would help if you provide us with the script name and location so we can additionally check if we can find any errors there.

Hi,


I'm not able to use that email form at all, all I keep getting is:

WRONG SECURITY CODE, PLEASE PRESS RETURN ON YOUR BROWSER AND TRY AGAIN


And I did write correct security code displayed on the page, and tried few times with different codes.


So can't even send test message to catch what is going on with it once processesed by sendmail script.


As for your joomla configuration for this, it is correct and shouldn't cause any problems:

hi,

i'm ok coz it's working now... but it'd be good to understand where it's coming from:


1 I reloaded a backup from when teh form was working with the captcha and it was not working

2 then I reloaded the files without the captcha and i could send the mail

3 then i reloaded the files with the captcha from the same backup as first step and it's working fine...


I'm not sure how that is possible... I reloaed cache each time... and the same script started to work again once a mail was sent without the said script...

if that gives you a clue to what could have happened ... for it's definetely not a script problem... i didnt touch the script at all...

Greetings,

was the mailbox empty when you reloaded the backup? if the mailbox was empty when you reloaded the backup then cpanel would not have re created the email box until mail was sent to and from it. If this is the case the mail may not have been working because the file the script was calling to in order to send mail would not have yet existed.

no, i only reloaded the script itself

only the component, not even joomla

i reloaded the script with captcha from when it was working and it didnt work (i cleared cache and cookies)

then i reloaded the original form without captcha and i just sent 1 mail and it worked

then i just reloaded the form with captcha, the same that was giving errors before, and it is working fine now

I'm puzzled

hi,

I'm having a problem with mailing system but this time with This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

customer seems to be able to receive emails but not send

they get an error message back in french that says that user doesn't exist...
